Everyone needs friendship. No one can sail the ocean of life need help from, and also give help to, others. In modern society, peopleattach more importance to relations and connections. A man of charisma has manyfriends. His power lies in his ability to give.

As life is full of strife and conflict, we need friends to support and helpus out of difficulties. Our friends give us warnings against danger. Our friendsoffer us advice with regard to how do deal with various situations. True friendsshare not only our joys but also our sorrows.

With friendship, life is happy and harmonious. Without friendship, life issad and unfortunate. I have friends in high positions and friends in the rankand file. Some are rich and in power. Some are relatively poor and withoutpower. Some are like myself, working as a teacher, reading and writing, contentwith a simple life. We all care for each other, love and help each other. Wefeel we are happiest when we chat and exchange ideas with one another. With myfriends, I know what to treasure, what to tolerate and what to share.

I will never forget my old friends, and I'll keep making new friends. Iwill not be cold and indifferent to my poor friends, and I will show concern forthem, even if it is only a comforting word.

Hello, ladies and gentlemen. It’s great to be here. First of all, thanksfor your coming. Tonight, what I am gonna talk about is innovation. Who can tellme what is innovation? We all know that, since 1978, China has been through thegreatest changes brought by the reform and opening-up. So what we can see fromthe reform and opening-up? The power of innovation. That’s why I am here. I amhere to show you my Chinese dream. I want to talk about the future and how we'regoing to win it. If we want to make innovation. But firstly, we should make surethat China is a place where we can make it if we try, where we can go as far ashard work and big dreams will take us. We understand that it’s not going to be acakewalk, this competition for the future, which means all of us are going tohave to do our best. We are going to have to win the future by being smarter andworking harder and working together. Innovation is the spirit of our country, the motive force for our country’s prosperity.

Sparking the imagination and creativity of our people, unleashing newdiscoveries -- that's what China will do better than any other country on the moment we have a new idea, we can explore it; we can develop it with aresearch grant; we can protect it with a patent; we can market it with a loan tostart a new business. We’ve got a chain that takes a great idea all the waythrough. We must be confirmed that, today, the challenges we face are real.

They are serious they are many. They will not be met easily or in a shortspan of time. But we will somehow find a way to overcome the difficulties. Mymajor is __X. My job is to discover or create new drugs for many diseases likecancer. You know that laboratory is the place where miracles happen. Believe itor not. What I do can save millions of people’s lives. For a long time, whatchallenges me is how to commercialize research. You come up with a great idea, but moving that new discovery from theory to practice or from the lab to themarketplace, that's re ally a big job. That’s what we should focus on.

We need to act with a sense of urgency-to study and work and create as ifthe fate of the country depends on us-because it does. It depends on us. Thankyou!

Youth is not a time of life,it is a state of mind;it is not rosy cheeks, redlips and supple knees,it is a matter of the emotions:it is the freshness;it isthe freshness of the deep springs of life.

Youth means a temperamental predominance of courage over timidity of theappetite, for adventure over the love of often exists in a man of 60more than a boy of dy grows old merely by a number of grow oldby deserting our ideals.

Years wrinkle the skin, but to give up enthusiasm wrinkles y,fear,self-distrust bows the heart and turns the spirit back todust.

Whether 60 of 16,there is in every human beings heart the lure of wonders, the unfailing childlike appetite of what's next and the joy of the game ofliving the center of your heart and my heart there's a wireless station:solong as it receives messages of beauty, hope, cheer, courage and power from men andfrom the infinite,so long as you are young.

When the aerials are down, and your spirit is covered with snows of cynicismand the ice of pessimism, then you are grown old, even at 20,but as long as youraerials are up,to catch waves of optimism, there is hope you may die young at80.

Thank you!

One windy spring day, I observed young people having fun using the wind tofly their kites. Multicolored creations of varying shapes and sizes filled theskies like beautiful birds darting and dancing. As the strong winds gustedagainst the kites, a string kept them in check.

Instead of blowing away with the wind, they arose against it to achievegreat heights. They shook and pulled, but the restraining string and thecumbersome tail kept them in tow, facing upward and against the wind. As thekites struggled and trembled against the string, they seemed to say, “Let me go!Let me go! I want to be free!” They soared beautifully even as they fought therestriction of the string. Finally, one of the kites succeeded in breakingloose. “Free at last,” it seemed to say. “Free to fly with the wind.”

Yet freedom from restraint simply put it at the mercy of an unsympatheticbreeze. It fluttered ungracefully to the ground and landed in a tangled mass ofweeds and string against a dead bush. “Free at last” free to lie powerless inthe dirt, to be blown helplessly along the ground, and to lodge lifeless againstthe first obstruction.

How much like kites we sometimes are. The Heaven gives us adversity andrestrictions, rules to follow from which we can grow and gain raint is a necessary counterpart to the winds of opposition. Some of us tugat the rules so hard that we never soar to reach the heights we might haveobtained. We keep part of the commandment and never rise high enough to get ourtails off the ground.

Let us each rise to the great heights, recognizing that some of therestraints that we may chafe under are actually the steadying force that helpsus ascend and achieve.
