Thereare some reasons given by some students. First, some students skip theirclasses just because they don’t like the classes. They think that some classesare quite boring and time-wasting, as well as they can’t learn a lot from theclasses. Therefore, they skip this kind of classes to study individually. Thisis one of the reasons for high absence rate in some public courses. Second,many students skip their classes because they lack of self-discipline and areindulged in other things, such as playing online games. They cannot controlthemselves well and finally lost their aim and motivation to learn. Inaddition, oversleeping and being ill are also the reasons for class consider that their absence will not be noticed if they teachers don’tcall over.

一些學生說了很多理由。首先，一些學生逃課僅僅只是因爲他們不喜歡那門課。他們覺得一些課程是非常乏味、浪費時間的，而且從課堂上他們也學不到什麼東西。因此，他們就逃了那一類課，然後去自習。這是一些公共課程中高缺勤率的原因之一。第二，很多學生逃課是因爲他們缺乏自律並沉迷於其他事情，如，玩在線遊戲。他們自控能力不是很好，終於會丟失學習目標和學習動機。另外，睡過頭，生病也是上課缺席的原因。他們覺得如果老師不點名的話他們不去上課也不會被發現。

Thereare various reasons for skipping classes, but as far as I am concerned,skipping classes should not be advocated because students always can learnsomething from each class, no matter how boring the class is. In addition,skipping classes is a kind of waste of money. What’s more, attending classes isalso a kind of respect for our teachers. Therefore, please attend each class asmuch as possible.

有各種各樣的逃課理由，但我覺得不應該提倡不上課，因爲每一門課學生都可以從中學到一些東西，不管那門課是有多麼的無聊課。而且，逃課也是浪費錢的一種方式。更重要的是，去上課也是對老師的尊重。因此，請儘量地去上課吧。

Some people may believe that going to classes should be optional, but I disagree. I dont understand how university students can expect to learn anything if they dont attend classes. Personal experience can help people learn about themselves and the world outside the classroom, but when it comes to learning about academic subjects, students need to be in class.

In class they receive the benefit of the teachers knowledge. The best teachers do more than just go over the material in the class textbook. They draw their students into discussion of the material. They present opposing points of view. They schedule guest speakers to come, give the students additional information, or show documentary films on the subject.

Also, attending classes on any subject teaches more than just facts. It teaches students how to learn, how to absorb information and then apply what theyve learned to other situations. Their teacher is the best one to help them with these skills. They cant learn them just by reading the textbook.

Going to class also teaches students how to work with the other members of the class. Many times students will be given group assignments. This is different from what they did in secondary school. Here theyre with people from different backgrounds and experiences. In this situation, they learn how to handle working with people different from themselves to achieve a common goal.

Going to class also teaches students responsibility and discipline. Having to be at a particular place at a particular time prepares themselves for getting a job. Being at a place on time with an assignment completed prepares them for a career.

In short, by going to class, students learn more than just information from the teacher. They also learn how to learn, how to work with others, and how to work responsibly. These are not optional skills in life, so attending classes should not be optional in college.

總之，去上課的學生不僅僅是從教師身上學到知識。他們也學到如何學習，如何與他人合作，如何負責任地工作。這些都是生活必備的技能，所以不應該在大學上課是可選的。
