The Mid-autumn Festival is around the corner. As a tradition of Mid-autumn Festival, moon cake is popular during this period that is the necessity for this festival. Previously, people often made moon cake by themselves, but now most people buy it from market. As time goes by, more and more moon cakes that are beautifully made are sold in the market.

However, the prices of moon cakes also increase correspondingly. Some people even pay hundreds or thousand yuan to buy a box of moon cake. In my opinion, it is totally not necessary. Moon cakes just a tradition of Mid-autumn Festival that owns good meaning. But more and more people regard it as gift to others and some others buy it to show their wealth, or take it as the symbol of status.

These are the reasons that increase the prices of moon cakes. I think its not a good phenomenon and we should enjoy this tradition or delicious food simply in such a good holiday.

Blood donation, the word is not unfamiliar, but how many people dare not donate blood?. I say, donating blood isn't that scary.

As you all know, blood donation is a charity activity, blood donation is to help those who are seriously ill, I think, blood donation does not need to be formatted, but to have affinity. The blood itself is a good help, but because some people are afraid of blood, but they know that a drop of blood. They can save the lives of many people, you know, only one person's life, you gave blood, someone ran back from the hands of the disease, you don't give the precious blood, someone may have lost their lives. Come and go, a difference of two lives, you don't bear to see others put out the candle of life, but do not give it a little blood, you know the blood is not a little harm to us, but to others, this is a life, or even dozens of. The patient is well, thank you so much to their loved ones; the patient has gone, although their family will not blame you, but you have lost the love that one has. In my eyes, blood donation is glorious, is proud of, is the purification of the soul, is the test of love, is to help people, help others, is valuable, is the embodiment of our friendship between people. Mutual aid. An exam of unity. We test full marks is very simple, just give a little bit of blood, but some people, that is, can not break through the barrier, life test, only so simple, but to test 100 points, not only knowledge, but also love!

The significance of voluntary blood donation is not how much you give, but the key is that you do 100 points, because you are a person with love, those who only have knowledge and no love, can not be compared with you!

i teach economics at unlv three times per week. last monday, at the beginning of class, i cheerfully asked my students how their weekend had been. one young man said that his weekend had not been so good. he had his wisdom teeth removed. the young man then proceeded to ask me why i always seemed to be so cheerful.

his question reminded me of something id read somewhere before: every morning when you get up, you have a choice about how you want to approach life that day, i said. i choose to be cheerful.

let me give you an example, i continued, addressing all sixty students in the class. in addition to teaching here at unlv, i also teach out at the community college in henderson, 17 miles down the freeway from where i live.

one day a few weeks ago i drove those 17 miles to henderson. i exited the freeway and turned onto college drive. i only had to drive another quarter mile down the road to the college. but just then my car died. i tried to start it again, but the engine wouldnt turn over. so i put my flashers on, grabbed my books, and marched down the road to the college.

When times become difficult , remember a moment in your life that was filled with joy and happiness.

Remember how it made you feel, and you will have the strength you need to get through any trial.

When life throws you one more obstacle than you think you can handle, remember something you achieved through perseverance and by struggling to the end.

In doing so, you ll find you have the ability to overcome each obstacle brought your way.

When you find yourself drained and depleted of energy, remember to find a place of sanctuary and rest.

Take the neccessary time in your own life to dream your dreams and renew your energy, so you ll be ready to face each new day.

When you feel tension building, find something fun to do. You ll find that the stress you feel will dissipate and your thoughts will become clearer.

When you re faced with so many negative and draining situations, realize how minuscule problems will seem when you view your life as a whole--and remember the positive things.

College students need to take part in the social practice before they graduate, many universities encourage students to do it, they have some policies to support students to carry on social practice. It is obvious that social practice is very important for college students, students can gain a lot from it.

First, students can contact to the real world, they can learn to deal with the things which they will meet in the future. Students always keep their study in the campus, what they have learned is from the book, but they don’t have the chance to practice it, social practice provides them the chance. Students can make their knowledge useful.

Second, social practice is very helpful in finding jobs for students. When students come to the job market, the employers pay special attention to the working experience, social practice belongs to it, it helps students stand out and win the chance to take the job interview. The employers think you can handle some situations because of your social practice.

There is no doubt that students should join the social practice, it is very useful to help students in improving their ability and gaining the job interview.

Traditional Culture Won't Be Lost

It seems we are living in the conflict between modern and traditional cultures every day. Hearing the blaring of horns the moment you step out of your house, seeing the so called "pop" the moment you open your eyes, you can't help thinking, "Will the traditional culture be gradually lost?"

Many people believe so. They may put right in front of you all the evidences they can dig out. They may argue that people are rushing to restaurants instead of cooking at home, listening to pop music but not traditional, wearing in a way people couldn't imagine ten years ago. Modern people like the air of freedom, not to be restrained by traditions. They offer this long list, only trying to confirm that this world is full of fashion, competition and temptation and the traditional culture is fading and will be lost at last.

Though we are now living in a world in which undeclared aggression, war, hypocrisy, chicanery, anarchy are part of our daily life. Though this is a skeptical age, and our faith has weakened, our confidence in some aspects of the traditional culture should and would never be lost.

Wouldn't you agree that our traditional culture is always credited with modesty, politeness and respectfulness, which have always been treasured for more than five thousand years?Even in this modern world, people still admire those with good manners, those who are polite to others or respectful to old people.

Wouldn't you agree that our Chinese traditional music is beautiful and artistic and our Chinese tea culture is always an appealing treasure to people around the world?

So there may just be some changes in our lifestyle or our attitudes towards life, but little change occurs to some fundamental aspects of our traditional culture that people still treasure in heart.

The traditional culture will never be lost, I believe.

Last summer holiday, I took a trip to Yunnan. It is in the southern part of our country is really a very beautiful place grand mountains, clean rivers and kind people. Trees and flowers are seen everywhere. Every year there are lots and lots of visitors.

Maybe you have heard about Shi Lin (stone forests). There are all kinds of strange stones. Some of the small stones look like graceful girls; and the big stones look like handsome men. Other stones look like cats, peafowls, double-edged swords, mice, elephants and so on. Of all the stones, the stone like a beautiful girl in a legend is the most famous name is A Shima.

I also went to Li Jiang. The roads in that city are just like the Eight Diagrams. Any road in the city goes to the center of Li Jiang. A river runs through the whole city. If you go along the river, you'll never get lost. There are many ethnic minority people in Yunnan. They are very cordial. And they all like singing and dancing. We danced with them around the campfire that night. I really had a good time.

I like the elephants and fruits there best. An elephant is even taller than me! I even mounted the elephant, though I was very afraid at first. But the elephant seemed very friendly. I took some photos with it. The fruits there are very fresh and delicious. They are very good for our health.

The trip to Yunnan impressed me greatly. I will never forget it.

There is an old Chinese saying: Top students come from strict teachers. Perhaps affected by this saying for a long time, we believe it right. However, as time flies, lots of things have changed. Therefore, I am eager to discuss what relation is the best between teachers and students.

A teacher can treat a student in two ways is strict, and the other is friendly. Most teachers prefer the first way.

To start with, we certainly have to admit that strictness is very effective, especially to the naughty pupils. As pupils we aren’t able to control ourselves well or fix our attention on one thing for a long time. We do most things because they are interesting or we feel like doing. We are always looking out of the window in class. Sometimes, we get to play games and forget our homework. On this occasion, strictness is a must. It not only forces us to do the right thing, but also helps us develop a good learning habit, which is of great importance during our whole life other words, it is the first step to success.

Still, everything has two sides. Its weak points are very obvious. You see, there’re top students in a class, where average students make up the majority. Then teachers’ orders or suggestions are for the majority, not for top students. However, top students always have their own study plans and prefer special homework, so orders usually won’t take great effect on them. Maybe you have thought out that teachers can give orders only to the majority and set some freedom to top students. However, it’s impossible a whole class, teachers couldn’t give order to part of the class, for the majority would question why they needn’t do such work, but we need? It would be probable that they think teachers treat them not equally, and will not obey teachers’ orders any more. This is a difficulty for teachers.
