1、成功的人生纔是完美的人生
成功的人生是努力的人生，是無任何遺憾的人生，是目標明確併爲之奮鬥的人生，是會把握機遇的人生。哈佛大學對於人生成功曾做過科學的系統的調查和驗證，認爲人生成功必須具有三大因素：一是宏觀管理能力，二是實際操作能力，三是處理人際關係能力。其中，前兩者僅佔15-20%，後者佔80-85%。這與我國清華大學曾經做過的調查試驗公式驚人的相似：成功=15%的知識技能+85%的人際關係。這裏的人際關係不是指通常的庸俗的人情世態，而是指駕馭人生、調節人生、解決矛盾的能力。
人人都希望成功，但往往把成功看得高不可攀，其實成功的人生是從每一點每一滴做起的，成功離我們很近。要想一步步邁向成功，必須從現在做起，從做到"五會"做起，即會笑、會聽、會說、會做、會想。只要你想成功，只要你努力，只要你每一天都成功一點點，成功的人生就會離你越來越近！
2、鐵環的寓言
一個鐵環，不小心弄丟了自己的一部分。於是便拼命地尋找失去的那一部分。但由於自己不圓，所以滾得很慢。但正因爲如此，它觀賞到了平日裏很少注意的花草，並和它們交了朋友。
工夫不負有心人，有一天，它找到了丟失的那一部分。有了它，雖然完美了，但是會跑得很快，再也無法和花草說話……
3、邱吉爾的弱點
邱吉爾的演講功力令世人折服，其演講的措辭、語調和手勢中透出非凡的勇氣和力量。二戰中最困難的時期，英國軍民的精神支柱，幾乎就是邱吉爾每天的廣播講話。可是有誰知道，邱吉爾青年時期特別害羞，一講話就臉紅，期期艾艾。當他確定了自己的遠大目標和抱負後，決心克服這個缺點。幾年後，他便風度翩翩、語驚四座。
4、華盛頓的牙齒
1784年，也就是華盛頓成爲美國總統前五年，剛剛52歲的他，一口牙幾乎掉光。他請牙醫往自己口腔裏植入了九顆牙，而這九顆牙居然都是活生生地從他的黑奴的嘴裏現拔出來的。這是歷史學家剛剛考古發現的，那個曾經解放黑奴的英雄華盛頓就這樣在我們心裏突然滑落，我們彷彿看到了聖袍上的污點。但是仔細一想，設身處地考慮當時的社會背景，也就不足爲奇了。是的，把某人看作聖人是因爲我們對他缺乏足夠的瞭解，只能遠遠地看着他，從而在心裏爲他塗抹各種色彩，然後低下自己的頭顱，來增加他的高度。從這個意義上說，我們要感謝華盛頓的不完美。
5、不可救藥
西周的厲王生活奢侈，殘酷地欺壓人民。當時有位忠臣叫凡伯，常常冒死勸諫，希望厲王能改邪歸正，但是他不但得不到厲王的重視，反而被奸臣嘲笑。
凡伯看着漸漸衰弱的'國勢，內心格外焦急，於是就寫了一首詩警告這幫小人。詩的大意是說：不是我老了，才說這些不該說的話，而是你們把憂患的事情當作兒戲。憂患還沒有到來的時候，能夠防止；但是，一旦憂患越來越多，那就像火焰熊熊燃燒一樣，沒有辦法補救了。

6、海爾的啓發
在許多國人眼裏，海爾這個成功企業已經很強大、很了不起了。然而，一位跟蹤報道海爾多年的記者卻說，在他接觸到的諸多企業中，海爾的"憂患意識"是最強的。海爾集團首席執行官張瑞敏時常掛在嘴邊的一句話是："戰戰兢兢，如履薄冰。"一個16年平均年增長速度達81.6%、年銷售收入已突破400億元、不僅在國內而且在國外都有較高知名度的企業能有這樣的意識，很值得我們深思。按照張瑞敏的說法，他們進軍中國的戰略非常簡單：贏家通吃。他們的目標就是不給你留任何一點市場和地盤。毋庸諱言，我們的許多企業，不要說弱勢企業，就是像海爾這樣的佼佼者，與世界500強相比也還有一段差距，也不敢有絲毫放鬆和懈怠。實事求是地正視挑戰的嚴峻性，充分估計到競爭對手的力量和困難的一面，向最壞處着想，向最好處努力，這樣較爲有益，而較少有害。
